Every month The Platia provides a space to meet new friends and discuss a major civic issue in Philadelphia.

On November 23rd at noon, we are creating holiday cards, and accepting books that can be donated to people in prisons. This is a family-friendly card-making event. We'll be creating the cards at a cozy venue in Old City. All card making supplies, like card stock, glitter, pens and pencils and stickers, will be provided. And - hot cocoa!

You can take the cards home, or we will be handing them to people who may not receive other holiday cards, through Punks with Lunch.

Please bring at least one book - in decent condition. We'll be accepting mystery and thriller books, business and documentary books, sports and self-help books; you can read more about what's acceptable through our friends at Books Through Bars who will make sure the books get in peoples hands.

All costs of this event go to the venue, Maisy's Meeting House, and the two organizations mentioned above - the Platia is a non-profit newsroom.

You can sign up here on the Maisy's Meeting House website. See you there!
